這本手冊是嶺南大學先導服務研習計畫的成果,旨在為各界對服務研習有興趣的人士,提供一個參考的框架,以協助院校籌劃一套完善的服務研習計畫,並發展全面的評估工具,從學生、課程導師、社會服務機構督導員和課程統籌員等不同的角度,評估服務研習計畫的成效。手冊的具體目標如下:
(ⅰ)為嶺南大學及其它院校提供服務研習的實用參考資料。
(ⅱ)為嶺南大學提供服務研習計畫的模式結構、內容和過程的定義,並提供指引以促進計畫的實施。
(ⅲ)為嶺南大學提供一個評判標準,從參加者的角度評估服務研習計畫的成效。
(ⅳ)分享嶺南大學先導服務研習計畫的評估結果。
可見,這是第一本具香港博雅教育特色的服務研習計畫實施手冊。

The word document (from Latin "docere", to teach) first describes something that holds clues or provides proof, usually as written evidence. Much of the document remained in the realm of words until the mid-19th century invention of photography. Daguerre's contemporaries' amazement over the fact that the camera would depict reality quasi automatically made photography and film the quintessential documentary media throughout the 20th and early 21 st century.
Learning to question this automatic trust the technological media have been invested with from early implementations to the time of digital manipulation was a trip the students of Lingnan University's Visual Studies program were perfectly prepared for as students with serious philosophical training.
What neither teacher nor students expected was the amount of fun, the sense of adventure and discovery that was to be had in the wake of our critical discussions of works from the last few decades. Even more surprise lay in the studio aspects of the course, in the way free use and students’ talent in producing visual material enabled us as a class to communicate beyond barriers of language, conformity, academic expectation.
The way students expanded the ideas and limits of the documentary genre was much more than anyone would expect in the first and only studio class in an otherwise theory-oriented program. I was and am endlessly impressed with how willing these fledgling practitioners were to go all out, to spend days with their subjects, to study and develop relationships with topics, people, places and question everything all over again. Their willingness to go below the surface even if it was painful and to be brave enough to discuss very personal findings in public showed their sincere interest in and talent for artistic practice.
I invite you to have a fresh look at a most impressive body of work put together by artists taking flight in a medium that seems ubiquitous to the point of its invisibility. Last but not least I would like to thank my students at Lingnan University for expanding my own vision of what is and what can be documentary art making.

WORDSFORPICTURES intersects with the Lingnan Library site and collection.
The exhibition represents a culmination of a series of discrete interventions that occurred over the residency. The installation operates as a linguistic production offering oblique narratives to explore the notion of the Library as a storehouse of accumulated facts, hypotheses, conjectures and fictions.
"文字圖像" 這項裝置藝術, 結合了嶺南圖書館的埸地和藏書。展覽是藝術家在她駐校期間, 在圖書館內所作的一連串抽象的藝術介入的高潮。這項裝置啟動了語言學上非直截了當的敍述, 來探討圖書館作為存放一個事實, 理論, 推理和小說的寶庫的意圖。

This Manual is a product of Lingnan University’s pilot SLRS. It aims to provide a framework for interested parties to organize or refine a range of Service-Learning
Programs and to develop a comprehensive set of validating instruments that can be used to assess the effectiveness of the SLRS from the varying perspectives of students, course instructors, social service agency supervisors and program coordinators. The specific objectives of this Manual are:
(i) To provide useful reference information on Service-Learning to interested parties at Lingnan University and other tertiary institutions.
(ii) To provide definitions of the structures, contents and processes of the Lingnan model of Service-Learning (SLRS) and guidance to support implementation.
(iii) To provide a set of validation instruments, as developed by Lingnan, for evaluating the effectiveness of the SLRS from the perspective of participants.
(iv) To share the summary results of the evaluation of Lingnan’s SLRS pilot.
This is the first manual of its kind for running a Service-Learning scheme with the unique characteristics of liberal arts education in Hong Kong.

This book focuses on the contemporary history Lingnan University. It recounts the tireless efforts of Lingnan alumni and former faculty to re-establish Lingnan education in Guangzhou, beginning after the People's Republic of China adopted an Open Door Policy and began to participate once again in international society. The focus of this book is on Lingnan's reconstruction and development since December 1989, when Lingnan (University) College of Sun Yat-sen (Zhongshan) University was established.

香港文學電影片目

《香港文學電影片目》收錄1913至2000年改編自文學作品的香港電影,及文人作家參與編製的電影。我們希望可以編一個齊全的片目,以方便日後的硏究者和有興趣的同學,但目前香港文學及電影的資料散佚仍多,我們盡力而為,工作了多年,但相信仍 有不少可以補充的地方。就算是拋磚引玉好了,希望前輩高明和有識讀者能給我們提供寶貴意見。片目雖説是涵蓋九十年的文學電影資料,但側重是在五、六〇年代的文藝電影資料。這兩個年代改編文學作品的電影較多,文人參與電影製作亦較活躍,香港文學跟香港電影的關係最密切,這個情況似乎不復見了。編出這片目,不知對今天的電影工作者會不會有一點參考作用?
