Description
Service learning, when properly implemented, can become a powerful pedagogy in developing students’ (and faculty’s) cross-cultural competency and prepare them to deal with a world that is increasingly globalise but deeply divided by racial, ethnic, cultural and religious differences. Professor Xing will highlight both the promises and challenges of the international service-learning movement. He will also discuss principles of good practice in service-learning such as empowerment, capacity building, equity and sustainability.
