Since the latter half of 2007, some owners of foreign funded enterprises in Qingdao, Guangzhou and other places have abandoned their factory buildings and equipment and left China stealthily without going through proper procedures for closure and clear¬ance of the accounts. This has become a concern both inside and outside China and has been nicknamed “Escape at Midnight”（半夜逃逸). 2007年下半年以来，在青岛、广州等地，个别外资企业的老板扔下厂房和设备，不办理企业关闭和清算手续，悄悄地离开中国。这种现象引起了国内外的广泛关注，被人们形象地称为“半夜逃逸”。
