The Sixth South South Forum on Sustainability (SSFS) focuses on the theme of "Ecology, Livelihood, and Community Regeneration". As a continuation of the debates of previous forums on reviewing critical situations and exploring alternatives, the Sixth SSFS aims to examine the current state of affairs - nuclear weapons proliferation, nuclear power plant catastrophes, climate change, weather extremities, environmental pollution, food and fresh water shortages, US geopolitical and currency domination, the energy issue which lies behind US aggression against Venezuela and Iran, the USA-China trade conflict... Taking note of the consequences and effects on nature and on peoples especially those from the global south, the Forum has brought together prominent feminists, academic scholars, peace activists, community workers, food producers, and rural regeneration promoters to review, articulate and debate theories and affecting the ecological, the social, the political, and the economic. Drawing upon experiences of community governance in Asia and Latin America, the Forum is a platform for dialogues and exchanges among grassroots and resistance practices in the production, dissemination and use of knowledge as instruments of problematization and self-organization, as well as interactions among thinkers in search of paradigms for peace and justice, The Forum is particularly honoured with the presence of Dr Rebecca Johnson, Founding Co-chair of ICAN, the 2017 Nobel Peace Prize laureate.

The Forum is composed of:

• June 24-26 : Summer School on Nuclear Weapons and Power: Current Challenges and Responses
• June 28-30 : Forum on Ecology, Livelihood, and Community Regeneration
• July 1-2 : Workshop on Architecture and Urbanism
• July 1 & 3 : E-lectures by three speakers
