《嶺南大學條例》訂明，LEO在校董會和諮議會均擁有提名權，這充分顯示政府對LEO歷年辦學成績的 肯定，亦確立LEO在嶺南大學發展中繼續擔當重要持份者的角色。
LEO以「支持嶺南大學未來的持續發展」為其首要宗旨，歷年向大學捐贈獎助學金及贊助「嶺步同行」 的籌款活動。LEO歷任主席、董事及其後人等亦透過不同途徑支援大學發展，這從校園內眾多冠名建築 及設施等，可見LEO對大學的鼎力支持。
Lingnan University Ordinance stipulates the rights of LEO to nominate members for both the Council and the Court. This patently shows the Government’s recognition of LEO’s contribution and its position as an important stakeholder for the development of the University.
Supporting future and sustainable development of Lingnan University remains as LEO’s principal objective. LEO continues to sponsor and support various scholarship and fund raising campaign, including the “Walking with Lingnanians” Fundraising Walkathon. Many buildings and facilities within the current campus were named after LEO’s Chairmen, Directors or their descendants. All these represent LEO’s full and continued support for the University.
