梁秉鈞教授在講座中從新近研究所得的資料探討香港文化特色，並特別引用五十年代的電影去探討當代電影如何改編五四新文學、外國文學、小說及傳統戲曲。梁教授同時亦探討中國傳統和現代的文化資源在香港社會的轉化和調整。
