Abstract
屯門是香港歷史最悠久的一處地方,在唐代到清代香港古代史的發展中占有重要的地位。過去有學者主張古代屯門所指乃今日深圳的南頭,并非香港的屯門。其實細考歷史文獻,證之于有關地域的地理特征,可以確證古代的屯門即今日香港的屯門。
Tuen Mun is the first place in Hong Kong that appears on ancient Chinese historical records. From Tang Dynasty down to the Qing period, Tuen Mun had always been the most important area of Hong Kong. However, some recent studies suggest that ancient Tuen Mun was not part of Hong Kong, but was located at present time Nan Tou, Shenzhen. This paper aims to revisit the debate on the location of Tuen Mun based on a cross examination between the written materials and the geographical significance of the area concerned
