Abstract
The present issue marks the second year of the Journal of Asian Public Policy in operation. The editors and the editorial board members would like to thank the authors who have made their contributions to the three full issues in the last year. We are delighted to have a very productive and smooth publication experience in the last year. We would like to thank all the reviewers and editorial members and also the publisher for providing timely and useful professional advice and technical support to make the first year of APP a very successful one. We are equally happy that APP has grown in terms of submissions of articles and we have already reviewed many high-quality papers in 2008, and a good collection of the reviewed and revised papers has been accepted for forthcoming issues in 2009 and 2010. While we are celebrating the success of the APP’s anniversary, the year 2008 ended with the global economic crisis and food price and fuel price increases. Despite the fact that this most recent economic crisis has slowed down the food price increase, poverty and disparity have become increasingly problematic, especially when the world is suffering not only economic recession but also uncertain future.
