是次古籍保護與修復講座將以中國古籍裝幀的起源與演變為開篇,引入古籍常見的受損情況,如蟲蛀、霉蝕、紙張劣化、結構分離等;進而介紹相應的保護與修復方法,並探討原生性保護及再生性保護之間的緊密關係。

此外,講者將聚焦香港大學圖書館古籍保護工作的理念、實踐與發展,輔以各類修復案例説明保護與修復工作的重要性。是次講座旨在讓參與者更為系統地瞭解古籍保護 與修復工作,並提升公衆對古籍傳承與傳統文化保護的關注。

This lecture on preservation and conservation of traditional Chinese books will begin by discussing the origin and evolution of traditional Chinese bindings and listing some common condition issues, such as insect damage, mold, deteriorated materials, and broken structures. It will then introduce corresponding preventive practices and treatment methods, along with a discussion on the close relationship between conservation and digitization.

The speaker will also share the philosophy, practice, and development of conservation work at the University of Hong Kong Libraries, using case studies to highlight the crucial role played by preservation and conservation. Through this presentation, the speaker aspires to provide attendees with a more comprehensive understanding of the preservation and conservation of Chinese rare books while simultaneously raising public awareness regarding the importance of safeguarding our cultural heritage.

講者介紹 Speaker's biography

主講人劉雨陽女士,古典文獻及古籍修復文學學士,圖書館及信息管理學碩士。她於2013年加入香港大學圖書館並從事文獻修復工作,目前擔任香港大學圖書館文獻保護與修復中心主管。她擅長中西文紙本及古籍修復,通過多年工作和各國訪學,積纍經驗並集各家所長,以求不斷精進修復技藝。劉女士及其修復團隊主要致力於多元化的館藏保護與修復、展覽與數碼化的支援、紙質文物保護的傳播及教育等工作。

The speaker, Ms. Liu Yuyang, holds a Bachelor's degree in Chinese Classical Literature and Rare Book Conservation, and a Master's degree in Library and Information Management. She joined the University of Hong Kong Libraries in 2013 and is currently the head of the Preservation Centre. With her diverse learning experiences from China, Japan, the US, and Europe, she has developed expertise in treating both Western and East Asian materials through a hybrid approach. Ms. Liu and her team are committed to a variety of preservation and conservation activities, providing support for exhibition and digitization, and are actively involved in preservation education and outreach.
