The Department of Operations and Risk Management (ORM) is established in 2024 as a fusion of the strengths and expertise found within the former Department of Computing and Decision Sciences and the Department of Finance and Insurance. This newly formed department endeavours to cover a broader scope of study that encompasses operations management, information systems, business analytics, and risk management.

ORM is dedicated to offering a comprehensive array of study programmes and functional courses designed to furnish students with the critical skills necessary for enhancing operational efficiencies, refining decision-making processes, and devising strategies to manage risks within various organizational frameworks. The department plays a pivotal role in underpinning the bachelor’s degree programmes in Digital Business and Risk and Insurance Management, alongside master’s degree programmes in Risk and Insurance Management, E-business, and Supply Chain Management, as well as providing research training and supervision to MPhil and PhD candidates in the Business Program.
