"Walking with Lingnanians" Fundraising Walkathon 2016 was held on 23 October 2016 with the participation of over 1,300 students, alumni, teachers, staff and friends of the University. Around HK$3 million was raised in support of the University’s “First Generation University Education Fund”. The walkathon started the walk fromthe Peak Road Garden, along the Harlech Road and Lugard Road and proceeded to the Peak Tower. The event was honoured by the presence of Mr Matthew Cheung Kin-chung, GBS, JP, Secretary for Labour and Welfare as the officiating guest.

嶺南大學於2016年10月23日舉行「嶺步同行籌款日2016」，逾1,300名學生、校友、教職員及各界友好參與，共籌得接近300萬元，以支持嶺大「第一代大學生教育基金」。2016年度的嶺步同行籌款日以山頂道花園為起點，沿夏力道及盧吉道環迴步行至山頂凌霄閣。活動獲勞工及福利局局長張建宗先生, GBS, JP應邀擔任主禮嘉賓。
