嶺南校歌，曲調源自美國作曲人Henry S. Thompson所作的"Annie Lisle"。校歌最初只有由嶺南學校附屬中學葛理佩校長在康樂建校初期所填的英文歌詞，後來司徒衛先生為使不諳英語的學生都能唱頌校歌，特邀國文教師陳輯五先生一同將歌詞譯成中文。
嶺南大學自廣州創校起，便積極以紅灰精神為本，推崇集體生活。為促進師生間的活力，發揚嶺南光輝形象，歷年經改編或原創產生了多首校園歌曲。
Lingnan Anthem adopts the melody written by American songwriter Henry S. Thompson's "Annie Lisle". At the early establishment of the Hong Lok campus, Mr. Henry Blair Graybill, the principal of Lingnan Middle School wrote new English lyrics to become the initial Lingnan's anthem. Later, Mr. Szto Wai invited Mr. Chen Ji-wu to translate the lyrics into Chinese, so that more students could sing the anthem.
Lingnan has long tradition of college / university songs since early days in Guangzhou. Throughout the years, many songs were adapted or written to share the spirit of Lingnan and to cultivate a sense of pride among Lingnanians.
