本講座擬從剛剛在第88屆奧斯卡頒獎禮上獲得了最佳導演和最佳男演員兩項大獎的荷里活電影《復仇勇者》切入，討論環境、自然議題與殖民主義、資本主義之間的歷史與現實的連接。一如《復仇勇者》的英文片名：The Revenant，直譯為“還魂者”，在這部墨西哥導演執導的荷里活影片中，歸來的不僅是奇蹟般死裡逃生的主人公，也是美洲原住民與大自然的“幽靈”。
在我們身處的、這個幽靈與怪影出沒的時代，這組“幽靈”的重現究竟帶給我們怎樣的消息？復仇故事的遠景裡，消失中的、壯闊的大自然正預示著怎樣的未來？在過去與未來之間我們究竟有沒有別樣的選擇？
The Revenant awarded Best Director, Best Actor and Best Cinematography at the 88th Academy Awards, is about not only the miraculous survival and return of the protagonist, but also the return of the spectre of the native Americans and Nature. This talk will discuss the interconnected issues of environment, nature, colonialism and capital, in history and in the current world.

戴錦華，北京人。任教於北京大學比較文學與比較文化研究所，教授，博士生導師。北京大學北京大學電影與文化研究中心主任。從事大眾傳媒、電影與性別研究。曾在亞洲、歐洲、北美、南美、非洲、澳洲數十個個國家和地區講學和訪問。專著10餘部。專著與論文，被譯為英文、法文、德文、意大利文、西班牙文、俄文、日文、韓文、阿拉伯文出版。
Professor Dai Jinhua teaches at the Institute of Comparative Literature and Culture, Peking University, and is Director of the Centre for Film and Cultural Studies. She focuses on mass media, film and gender studies. She has delivered lectures in many countries. She is author of over ten scholarly monographs and her work has been translated into many languages including English, French, German, Italian, Spanish, Russian, Japanese, Korean, and Arabic.
