Lyrical self · metaphysics-probing self · poetic self : a study on the development of lyricism in Jin and Song dynasties based on “transcendent thinking” of metaphysics

摘要 Abstract

東漢末年社會動蕩,魏晉政治鬥爭激烈,士人面對生存危機,開始反思與内省,個體生命意識覺醒。《古詩十九首》以來,個體經驗的書寫與情感的抒發,取代“詩言志”而成詩歌創作之核心,並直接影響了詩學觀念。與此同時,“情”被抒發以後如何安頓成爲新的議題,於是一方面出現了觀物方式的改變;另一方面,在魏晉玄學影響之下,老莊滌除玄鑒的人生態度及其背後的内省精神開始影響詩歌創作,“情”之消釋成爲詩歌書寫的内容。當内在哲思介入詩歌創作,是如何與抒情傳統相融,又如何發展出中國詩歌之“淡”風?基於此,本文將從鍾嶸“淡乎寡味”與劉勰“淡思濃采”辨析開始,確認“淡思”在詩歌研究中的位置;進而分析晉宋四種題材的詩歌,不同於傳統闡釋感物動情的做法,本文將反向研究“情”如何被消釋的問題,爬梳“淡思”進入詩歌創作,形成特有的抒情模式,與山水自然相融,與詩歌語言相合的過程;探討此間“抒情自我”(Lyrical self)與“玄思自我”(Metaphysics-probing self)磨合而成“詩性自我”(Poetic self)的書寫進程。

From the end of the Eastern Han dynasty to Wei and Jin dynasties, social turmoil and political conflicts had forced scholars to confront survival crises. They began to reflect on the awakening of individual life consciousness. Since “Gus hi shijiu” (Nineteen Ancient Poems), the writing of individual experience and the expression of emotions had replaced “poetry expresses the heart’s intent” as the core of poetics and exerted direct influence on the notion of poetry itself. In the meantime, how to settle the expressed “emotions” had become an emerging topic. The influence from Laozi’s and Zhuangzi’s philosophies of life had changed the way of observing poetic composition and dissolving “emotion” had become a subject of writing. How did philosophical self-reflection blend with lyrical tradition in poetry writing? How did the poets develop the dan (bland) style of Chinese poetry? This article begins with a discussion of Zhogn Rong’s dan hu gua wei (transcendent thinking couched in brocaded expressions) and Liu Xie’s dan si nong cai (transcendent thinking couched in brocaded expressions) in order to position dan si (transcendent thinking) in poetics. This article examines four types of poems on different themes in the Jin and Song Dynasties. Differing from the traditional way of interpreting the poet’s emotion as an internal response to the external stir, this article studies how emotion is dissolved in poetry. In addition, this article explores dan si’s impact on poetics and explains how a new lyricism blended with natural landscapes and poetic language in the process of the “poetic self” and the “lyrical self” fusing into the “Metaphysics-probing self.”
