嶺南詩歌，通行已久，歌集的編刊始於1922年，校園歌曲歷經前輩整理推廣才得以流傳至今。早期的嶺南校園歌曲，多數襲自外國，歌詞配用英文，間中有譯中文，亦有由國人自撰中文歌詞的。
此專集收錄嶺南歌集內的歌譜，以及珍貴的樂譜。
