Biography

Ms CHEA Shuk-Mui, an awardee of the “Ten Outstanding Young Persons Award”, is a veteran broadcaster who has hosted countless popular radio programmes over the past decades, including Morning Suite, Dreams Come True and Footprints in the Old Days, all of which told uplifting stories and received high ratings from radio audiences. Because of her distinguished performance, Ms Chea was elected as “The Most Popular DJ” in Hong Kong for eight consecutive years. She also won numerous awards such as “Radio Broadcasting's Most Outstanding Performing Artist Gold Award” from the Hong Kong Performing Artistes Guild, “New Women's Awards” from Asia Television, etc.

Although Ms Chea had a difficult childhood, and the process of pursuing her dreams was not all smooth sailing, she has been striving forward bravely and valuing very much the needs of the disadvantaged. She takes part in voluntary works of various charities and has received many awards. To name only a few, these include the “Yan Oi Tong Outstanding Charitable Artist Award”, “Excellent Social Contribution Award” from the Regeneration Society and “Hong Kong Volunteer Award”, the “Chief Executive’s Commendation for Community Service” and “The Secretary for Home Affairs' Commendation”. Ms Chea later serves as the Founding Chairperson of the Hong Kong Volunteer Awardees Society, as a role model to motivate others to participate in voluntary works.
