Biography
Dr Eddy Li Sau-hung is a renowned industrialist in Hong Kong who has engaged in the watch industry for over 30 years. He was elected as one of the Ten Outstanding Young Persons and Young Industrialists of Hong Kong in 1991 and 1993 respectively, and was awarded the Bronze Bauhinia Star in 2000.
Dr Li has contributed extensively to society. Since 2015, he has served as President of the Chinese Manufacturers’ Association of Hong Kong (CMA). He is currently a member of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference National Committee, Managing Director of the China Overseas Friendship Association, and held key positions in various industrial and commercial associations such as the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Association and the Hong Kong Chinese Importers’ and Exporters’ Association. Dr Li has made significant contributions to youth education. He served as Visiting Professor at a number of universities in Mainland and Hong Kong and Course Consultant of a number of industrial and business-related programmes of local institutions, and was a member of the University Grants Committee from 1999 to 2001 and the Hong Kong Council for Academic Accreditation from 1999 to 2011. Dr Li values very much the cooperation between the business sector and tertiary institutions, and under his presidency the CMA has made donations to tertiary institutions to subsidise education.
