Lingnan University's Cities and Governance Webinar Series 2021 launched on 28 September with a presentation entitled “Empirical Research on Urban Governance” by Dr Nuno F. da Cruz from the London School of Economics and Political Science. Further sessions featured distinguished academics and industry leaders presenting webinars about transitional housing in Hong Kong, neighbourhood cohesion in Shenzhen, smart commuting, urban renewal and green energy. The webinar series emphasised the University's promotion of the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) which are designed to foster better global societies in the future. The Cities and Governance webinar series is directly related to SDG17 (Partnerships for the Goals) which aims to revitalise global partnerships for sustainable development.
