嶺南大學教與學中心於2003年10月22日舉行「博雅教育、終身學習、懷抱天下」協作計劃報告會暨講座,分別邀請了嶺南大學校長陳坤耀教授及主禮嘉賓大學教育資助委員會主席林李翹如博士致歡迎辭及開幕辭,並由兩位一同主持開幕儀式。

報告會暨講座先播放協作計劃的短片作簡介,並由協作計劃總監譚小玲博士 (Dr. Maureen TAM) 為協作計劃作報告簡報。作為協作計劃榮譽顧問的查良鏞教授雖然遠在浙江大學教書,但亦應邀通過錄像作了專訪,表達對博雅教育的看法及分享其閱讀經驗,又鼓勵香港青年在年輕時多吃一點苦,並指出吃苦是最好的鍛煉。講座上隨即進行了抽獎及頒獎環節,送出4套由金庸先生親筆簽名的著作予參與的幸運兒。最後,由兩位嘉賓 : 前環境食物局局長任關佩英女士及梁文道先生 (牛棚書院創辦人、商業電台一台總監) 以「閱讀‧增值‧樂趣」為題,分享他們的個人閱讀及寫作心得。

“Liberal Arts Education, Lifelong Learning, and Engaging the World” Project (LLE)

是次報告會暨講座為「博雅教育、終身學習、懷抱天下」協作計劃的其中一項活動。協作計劃由大學教育資助委員會資助,教育發展補助金撥款490萬,為期3年 (2002年10月至2005年9月)。這項跨院校的教與學計劃由嶺南大學教與學中心全力主辦,協作單位包括香港浸會大學、香港科技大學、及香港教育學院。透過成立讀書會,組織師生合作發展教學軟件及推動視像會議技術在課程上的應用,從而提昇學生個人發展,擴闊國際視野。

The report presentation cum seminar was part of the “Liberal Arts Education, Lifelong Learning, and Engaging the World” Project. The LLE Project, a 3-year project funded by a Teaching Development Grant of HKD 4.9 million from the UGC, was launched during October 2002 to September 2005. This project was an inter-institutional initiative hosted by the Teaching and Learning Centre of Lingnan University in collaboration with Hong Kong Baptist University, Hong Kong University and Technology and Hong Kong Institute of Education. By setting up a Bookworm Club, collaborating with university teachers and students to develop curricular and instructional courseware, and deploying videoconferencing technology in teaching, it could enhance students’ self-development and broaden their horizon.
