二月河，中國大陸作家凌解放先生，著名歷史小說家，其筆名「二月河」取意「奔騰不息的二月黃河」，以《康熙大帝》、《雍正皇帝》及《乾隆皇帝》三部暢銷小說名滿天下，廣受海內外讀者歡迎。跟據這些小說改編的電視連續劇，在海內外播出後，也引起極大的哄動與迴響。
「博雅教育、終身學習、懷抱天下」協作計劃
“Liberal Arts Education, Lifelong Learning, and Engaging the World” Project (LLE)
是次講座為「博雅教育、終身學習、懷抱天下」協作計劃的其中一項活動。協作計劃由大學教育資助委員會資助，教育發展補助金撥款490萬，為期3年 (2002年10月至2005年9月)。這項跨院校的教與學計劃由嶺南大學教與學中心全力主辦，協作單位包括香港浸會大學、香港科技大學、及香港教育學院。透過成立讀書會，組織師生合作發展教學軟件及推動視像會議技術在課程上的應用，從而提昇學生個人發展，擴闊國際視野。
The public seminar was part of the “Liberal Arts Education, Lifelong Learning, and Engaging the World” Project. The LLE Project, a 3-year project funded by a Teaching Development Grant of HKD 4.9 million from the UGC, was launched during October 2002 to September 2005. This project was an inter-institutional initiative hosted by the Teaching and Learning Centre of Lingnan University in collaboration with Hong Kong Baptist University, Hong Kong University and Technology and Hong Kong Institute of Education. By setting up a Bookworm Club, collaborating with university teachers and students to develop curricular and instructional courseware, and deploying videoconferencing technology in teaching, it could enhance students’ self-development and broaden their horizon.
