Abstract

The second Legislative Council (Legco) elections in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (SAR) were held on Sep 10, 2000. As well as taking place in a relatively turbulent sociopolitical environment, the elections were situated in a changing political landscape. The results of the 2000 elections are likely to have a considerable impact on the political development of Hong Kong. Tam critically examines the 2000 Legco elections.
