Description

After the suspension of the old Lingnan University in Guangzhou, Lingnanians strived to revive the University. During mid-1960, The Board of Directors of Lingnan Middle School, Lingnan University (Hong Kong) Alumni Association and Lingnan Club established "Lingnan Education Extension Committee" planning ahead to revive Lingnan University in Hong Kong.

On 19th November 1967, inheriting the tradition of the old Lingnan University, "Lingnan College" was established at 15 Stubbs Road, Hong Kong (i.e. the original campus of Lingnan Hong Kong Branch School, then later Lingnan Middle School).

Lingnan College continued to grow to become one of the key institutions of higher education in Hong Kong. The achievement across the first decade since 1967 can be highlighted with obtaining the recognition to become a registered post-secondary institution in Hong Kong.
