Biography
Dr LAM Ching-Choi is the Chief Executive Officer of the Haven of Hope Christian Service (Haven of Hope). He is also Chairman of the Elderly Commission and the Community Investment and Inclusion Fund, and an unofficial member of the Executive Council. Dr Lam grew up in poverty and entered the medical profession through hard work, and later became the medical director of Evangel Hospital. Shaped by his childhood experience, Dr Lam has dedicated himself to public service. It is his firm conviction that reaching out to the community can bring about real changes. Therefore, he has been leading the Haven of Hope to launch the community outreach programmes, which set an excellent example for the social welfare sector.
Acting as the bridge between the community and the policymakers, Dr Lam has fostered communication among different parties and solved problems for them over the years. From 2004 to 2010, he also served as member of Lingnan University’s Council, and contributed significantly to the governance and development of the University.
